Stealthing
So... your looking to be unoticed, unseen, and unheard eh? Well you've come to the right place... This guide is for those who are interested in the art of stealth, walking while hidden so that people cannot tell where you hid or where you are.
First of all, you will need to have AT LEAST 80 hiding, period. Without being good at hiding you can never stealth and in order to stealth you will need to hide first. So yes, going from seen to stealthing takes 20 seconds...
So here's what you have to do to get good, after you have 80 hiding of course. You need to hide, then stealth. Over and over and over and over....... But it get's a little more complicated. At a certain skill anyone can just stealth naked... but only a pro can stealth while wearing nice loud armor. So after your gains stop around 55 - 65 put on some armor, like a few pieces of ringmail (if it says you can't stealth with that armor, take some off.) With that you should be able to get to about 90. Once your gains completely stop again, you can either put on a chain tunic or a set of leather, either one will get you to grandmaster level.
So what can you do at Grandmaster that you couldn't do before? Well, for every 10 points of stealth you have, you can take an extra step while hidden... for instance, 50 skill = 5 steps, 100 skill = 10 steps. So at Grandmaster, you are able to get about a screen and a half away from where you hid.
Now here's a few pointers from a pro... If you have a bit of magery skill, you can go invisible and stealth right away, but remember! you must have at least 80 hiding. I tried lowering my hiding after I GMed stealth and it didn't work anymore. Don't open doors while stealthing, it lets people know exactly where you are... although, a tricky person can make people 'think' that they went inside... And one last thing! A stealthed person can't just go pushing people around unoticed, walking through someone while your stealthed will reveal you and your cover is blown.
So good luck you sly little devils...
