Inscription

Guide to gaining inscription from 0.

On Hybrid, the inscription skill is especially useful to PVP mages because of the added bonus to the spells 'spell reflection' and 'protection'. With GM inscription, spell reflection is effective against 15 circles of magery - this means you can reflect 15 first circle spells, three fourth circle spells, two sixth circle spells, and so on. Protection becomes more effective by completely preventing the mage from becoming interupted. Note that you cannot have both spells in effect at the same time.

Meditation

Quick and easy!

Although meditation can be learned passively by casting spells or inscribing scrolls, some of us just don't have the reagents! One way to lose mana without casting is by using a magic hat, which can be bought at any mages shop. When the hat is worn, 10 intelligence is added to your stats with 5 being lost from stregnth and dexterity. Your mana will no longer be at full strength, and you will be able to use the meditation skill.

Check the razor macros section for an example macro!

Tinkering

GM tinkering

I used around 2.5k ingots with this, so don't worry too much about resources, since it's relatively cheap.

from 28-48, make keys and copy, etc.
48-93 make lockpicks (these only use 1 ingot)
93-100 make spyglasses.

This skill goes extremely quick, and is very useful for making good tools (shovels, sewing kits etc) for cheap. Also a necessity for making potions kegs, which are a popular item to sell.

Item Identification

Avoid buying ID wands buy adding the item ID skill to a mule character!

Item ID is very simple to GM. Simply use the skill on just about any item over and over.

When you do this with a Razor macro, just a 1 second pause to the end of your macro and loop it!

Peacemaking

Are you a bard looking to protect yourself? A Tamer wanting easier prey? A Warrior that needs a hand? Well then I think peacemaking might be for you!

What is Peacemaking?
Peacemaking is the special art of using music to calm your targeted agressor into a kind of trance so that it is unable to move or attack for a while. Sound cool huh, well if this interests you I suggest you keep reading.

How does peacemaking work?
Back in the day peacemaking use to only bring monsters and people out of combat but was changed so that it could still do that but with an added bonus... It's now difficulty based and when you target an animal or monster, depending on your skill, it will make the monster not move or attack for a period of time. But if you target yourself you can still stop all combat on the screen. Like all barding skills you will ne musicianship to start. The math goes like this:

Chance to make peace = Peacemaking % of Musicianship

(example: 100 Musicianship and 50 peacemaking give you a 50 percent chance, 50 musicianship and 50 peacemaking gives you a 25% chance.)

How do I train it?
For being such a great skill it sure is easy to gain. All you need to do is use peacemaking and target yourself for hours on end. You will need an instrument and some musicianship skill to start. You will gain musicianship by peacemaking, so music doesn't need to be GM to start.

What kind of character can use this?
Even though it is a barding skill, not just bards use it. Warrios who like to fight alone enjoy monsters that don't hit back. And Tamers can peacemake their targets, a dragon for example, and it wont attack while being tamed or they can peace their targets just before their pets gnaw it's head off to save band aids.

Anything else I need to know?
Yes, a few things... Not all monsters are effected by music so don't freak out if it says that it has no effect. Stronger monsters may take a few tries until you succeed to calming them. A exceptional insrument plays better and gives you a 10% better chance of succeeding.

I hope this guide answers all your questions, goodluck and stay alive!

Provocation

Here is a simple guide for training Provoking.

What is required:

GM Musicianship
Provocation
Instrument

First train provocation off a bard. You can find bards in Britain near the blacksmith. This will require gold. I use the following skill table as an example for training provocation:

Provocation:
0 - 25 Train off a Bard
25 - 50 Provoke Two Polar Bears
50 - 94 Provoke Two Giant Beetles
94 - GM Provoke Two Ogre Lords or Rotting Corpses

Go tame two polar bears, or if you don't have a tamer, go buy two polar bears. Ask around Britain and Delucia if anybody is selling polar bears or can tame two polar bears. I use polar bears because they are easily tamable and can be found on Ice Isle near the Honesty shrine.

Go to a carpenter and buy at least 8 tables. Find a safe spot, or if you have a house, lock down the tables and block in the polar bears, but make sure the polar bears can't melee each other and are within provocation distance. After you have locked in the polar bears using the tables release them so that they are wild. Now make a simple macro to use provocation and target both polar bears.

After you have macroed to 50 provocation switch to giant beetles. Only this time you will need to stable one giant beetle at a time. Use the same method for provoking giant beetles as you used for polar bears. It is important the beetles can't melee each other, unless you are also training veterinary, in which case you won't need tables.

After you have macroed on two giant beetles until 94 provocation, you will need to find either two Ogre Lords or Rotting Corpses to GM provocation. I chose Ogre Lords and Rotting Corpses because they are easily provoked at that skill level and don't cast spells.

Stealing

An Easy Way to Gm Stealing

Step 1- Start off with around 50 skill level in stealing. The reason is stealing is not always the easiest skill to raise.

Step 2- Go into the land around you and find NPC’s. Try and steal from them until you get to around 55.

Step 3- Buy a packhorse. This way you can put items in his pack and steal from it.

Step 4- Put around 2000 gold in the pack and steal it until you gm the skill.

** Notice you will not steal the gold all at once***

After you Gm stealing join the thieves’ guild for some fun. But remember they will not tolerate you killing people are you will be kicked out.

(Side Note- If you do not GM the skill by the stealing the 2k over and over, add more gold to the pile. Once you get more experienced in stealing you can steal heavier objects.)

Blacksmithing

Blacksmithing is used to create and repair metal armour/weapons out of ingots of varying colours.

You should start with 50 Blacksmithing or buy it up as high as you can. You will go through a lot of ingots training, and even more if it's not first skill.

Use this table to determine the best items to make at your skill level.

35-45 Ringmail Gloves
45-55 Broadswords
55-65 Short Spears
65-75 Long Spears
75-85 Platemail Sleeves
85-95 Platemail Legs
95-GM Platemail Tunics
GM-120

Platemail Tunics
