So you're mining away, and as usual some red comes along and dumps on you, taking your measly 25ore. However that ore isn't measly to you, thats your money! So how do you counter these reds and their ore stealing ways? Easy, suprise the hell out of them!

This guide will instruct you on how to create an effective mining template that will result in the maximization of your profits (your ore) and also serve to pack a pleasant surprise forwould be miner killers.

The skills you'll need are:

Mining
Magery
Resist
Macefighting
Tactics
Hiding
Anatomy


It's definetely recommended you GM mining first, it won't take that long if its the first skill you're working.

Now the best thing to do of course if find yourself a beetle, love it, feed it, bond with it.This beetle will be your best friend as a miner.

The cool thing about hiding is you can mine while you're hidden, until of course you have to move to another spot for more ore, but all you have to do is hide again while you have your beetleright next to you.

The great thing about being a miner is you'll spend about 90% of your time dismounted, which is the position in which you need to be to chuck a bola at someone. This comes in real handy when you're in the minoc mines, mining away while hidden and a red comes on screen and comes to investigate
the whereabouts of the owner to the beetle hes seeing, and 9 times out of 10 he'll cast reveal and this is where you begin to menacingly swing your bola (you'll still be hidden while you're swinging) With GM tactics your bola will fly true and knock him off his mount at which point youll hop on your beetle
high-tail out of there, while the whole time that red will be like "...wtf?"

It's the element of suprise thats going to keep you alive in the mining business so you don't get killed and lose your hard earned ingots. I have magery in the template for magic reflect to survive a dump, and macefighting I chose because you can always weild your pickaxe in a jiff and use that to hack your way out of a situation.
